The sermons included in this book have been preached in recent years at Cornell University, the University of Pennsylvania, the Womans College of Baltimore, Princeton University, Syracuse University, and Vassar College. Two of the briefer sermons were delivered at the afternoon service at Cornell, at which the speaker is limited to fifteen minutes.
