Passeport Gastronomique: Spain

Passeport Gastronomique: Spain Review

Know What You Eat!

Spanish Food! Hundreds of listings that you will find on Spanish menus. Also includes an additional Tapas section with vegetable, seafood, meat and egg tapas translations. As a Kindle book it's easy to read in dim restaurant lighting and won't weigh you down.

This book is invaluable to both the adventurous and cautious diner. It helps you search out favorites and unusual dishes (and avoid things that are just too weird).

Adventurous eaters will be pleased to find lots of adventurous foods described...from angulas (baby eels) to zarajos (fried lamb's intestines). The less adventurous will be happy to be able to avoid ordering them. Learn that in Spain the zanahoria is a carrot and the mela is an apple. However, a Coke is a Coke just about anywhere.

In addition to the hundreds of menu translations, each book also includes a short guide to phrases useful when dining out, that may include: How to order; How to ask for the check; How to complain that your food is not as ordered...too rare, too done, not hot, not cold. Read more...

Passeport Gastronomique: Sweden

Passeport Gastronomique: Sweden Review

All New Edition! NOW with Vegan and Vegetarian helpful phrases!!

Know What You Eat! Use the Passeport Gastronomique Menu Translator, Phrasebook and Pronunciation guide.

Adventurous diners will love the opportunity to try new dishes...Ã…lisoppa (potato soup with skinned eel and leeks) those less adventurous can avoid ordering dishes they find unappetizing...maybe Komage (cow's stomach).

Organized alphabetically, each menu item is listed in Swedish in bold, followed by a short, English translation in a light, italic face for easy reading.

In addition to the hundreds of food menu translations, Passeport Gastronomique also includes useful phrases and pronunciation guides.

Know What You Order!

This from Robin Locker Lacey at MyMelange.net

By now you know that I'm a traveling foodie. But that doesn't always mean that I the most adventurous eater.

In fact, there is a limit to what I will eat (no brains, intestines, testicles or eyeballs for me!) even if it is considered a delicacy. Not really into snails either.

I always like to arm myself with correct menu translations so that I can avoid any unpleasant foods while traveling. No embarrassing culinary mishaps for me thankyouverymuch.

Up to this point, I have always recommended the Marling Menu-Master, which is certainly a great resource.

But now, with the magic of modern technology, there is a new eBook on the scene that would give you the same result, but in a new downloadable format.

Passeport Gastronomique offers foreign menu language translations for France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Sweden and The Netherlands- and even a few combo editions.

It's a great way to get the info and security, but at a fraction of the cost (under ) - and with the ease of having it on your Smartphone or eReader - it means never having to pack or carry around a bulky guidebook. And never having to wonder which of the cow's stomachs you just ate.

Do you remember a time that you wished you had a menu translator?

Looking for the same, great Menu Translator without the phrasebook or pronunciation guide, try our Menus(e)! series as an alternative. Search on Menuse in the Kindle Store on Amazon. Read more...
